The importance of small moments.
I have never been a big moment type person. It did not quite ever sit with me. I could never see, what they call is the big picture. I could only see smaller moments, the smaller picture.
It sets right with me. From my perspective, the bigger picture is all of the smaller moments combined to make one big one. Kind of poetic, isn't it though?
See, a small moment could be anything - the feeling of drinking the first sip of chilled beer on a hot day, someone randomly complimenting you, holding hands, your partner running their fingers through your hair. There are innumerable moments like these. Do you not like how they feel? The feel of chilled beer from your neck to your chest, the small boost in confidence of the compliment and a sudden wave of love for yourself, the feeling of knowing that someone has got you, the love you feel for your significant other. They are feelings worth living for, worth hoping.
Where I live, humidity seems to be hitting its peak. Just the other day, while coming back home from college, I stopped to have a glass of cold sugarcane juice. A soon as I drank the first sip, although it almost hurt the insides of my neck (because it was really chilled), I don't think I'll forget how that felt. It was almost like there was absolutely nothing around me except me and the glass of the sugarcane juice. It was simply ecstatic. I felt tired and exhausted, but that one glass of it gave me enough energy to reach home and rest.
My point simply is, don't underestimate the power small moments hold in life. Bigger moments, the ones that people other than you remember can be great, but the way small moment make us feel is stronger. It's beautiful to have several little moments throughout the day rather than having one big moment once in a blue moon. Find joy and happiness in the little things in life, like accomplishing what you had planned for the day, laughing on a lame joke cracked, the bite of a freshly baked cookie, a hug from someone, things like that. They will keep you happy throughout life.
